Charley Howard Reynolds

Charley Howard Reynolds, 85, a longtime Ottawa resident, died May 23, 2010, at the Coffey County Hospital. He was born to Diana Elliott and Ira Lee Reynolds of Springfield, Missouri, on July 30, 1924.
In 1942 he married Nellie Jo Rushing and shared over 60 years of marriage prior to her death in 2004. He attended the Draughton Business School in Springfield, Missouri. He spent time in the oil industry and the real estate business during his career. In Ottawa, he was best known as the President of the Ottawa Production Credit Union from where he retired after 23 years of service.
Charley was active in the Ottawa Community as a member of the First Baptist Church, a member of the Ottawa Rotary Club and the Ottawa Chamber of Commerce.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and a sister. Mary Reynolds.
He is survived by two sons, Larry Reynolds, Springfield, Mo., and Terry Tim Reynolds, Burlington, Ks., one daughter; Jean Kay Lytle, Holton, Ks., two brothers; John and June Reynolds, both of Springfield, Mo; 3 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends from 6-7:30 PM Thursday evening at Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home in Ottawa. The funeral service will be Friday, May 28, 2010, at 1:00 PM At the funeral home with burial to follow in Highland Cemetery.
