Gladine L. Lisher Roe 1913 - 2010 Perry
Funeral services for Gladine L. Lisher Roe, 97, Perry, will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Perry United Methodist Church. Burial will be at Underwood Cemetery, in Williamstown.
Mrs. Roe died Tuesday, May 18, 2010, at her son’s home in Perry.
She was born Feb. 28, 1913, in Brookfield, Mo., the daughter of Dempsey and Nola Sanders Lisher. She attended schools in Brookfield and was a 1931 graduate of Pershing High School in Brookfield. She had lived in Perry since 1971.
She was a homemaker and assisted her husband and taught Sunday school for many years, as he served as a pastor in the United Methodist Church.
She married the Rev. Lyle B. Roe on Dec. 24, 1932, in Brookfield, Mo. He preceded her in death Feb. 8, 1998.
She was also preceded in death by an infant son, Richard Lyle Roe, and one grandson, Johnny Rutherford.
Survivors include a son, Ronald Roe, Perry; two daughters, Donna Ketcher, Spring Hill, and Joyce Rutherford, Perry; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
The family will meet friends from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Perry United Methodist Church.
The family suggests memorials to the Perry United Methodist Church, Jefferson County Friends of Hospice or the Jefferson County Humane Society, sent in care of Barnett-Chapel Oaks Funeral Home, P.O. Box 416, Oskaloosa, KS 66066.
