Sylvia Bong was born May 14th, 1931, in Jakarta, Indonesia, to parents Tjoa Beng Hay & Netty Oei Soei Nio. She passed away in Dallas, TX, on March 28th, 2010.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Soey Bow (Bob) Bong, her sister Evie Khouw of Holland.
She is survived by brother Johnny Tjoa, of Utrecht, Holland. She is survived by her children, James and wife Lynn of Dallas, John and wife Heidi of the Woodlands, and Jerry of Chicago. Her loving grandchildren are Robert, Laura, Anna, and Sara.
Sylvia enjoyed her career as an entrepreneurial cosmetologist in her hometown of Lawrence, KS. She was a dedicated member of the Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Lawrence, KS. In lieu of flowers please make donations in her honor to Corpus Christi Catholic Church or St. Patrick Catholic Church, Dallas, TX.
Services will be Wednesday, March 30th at 1:30 at St. Patrick Church.
