Ralph H. Robbins

Funeral services for Ralph H. Robbins, 87, Tonganoxie, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at West Haven Baptist Church, Tonganoxie. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Kansas City, Kan.
Mr. Robbins died Wednesday, March 17, 2010, at the Kansas City Hospice House in Kansas City, Mo.
He was born Aug. 19, 1922, the son of Harry F. and Esther M. Roberts Robbins.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
Mr. Robbins was the founder and former president of Midwest Carpet Co. in Tonganoxie. He was a charter member of the West Haven Baptist Church, a 50-year member of the Henri Masonic Lodge No. 190 AF&AM, and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9271, all in Tonganoxie. He was also a past member of the Tonganoxie school board. He enjoyed spending time at his cabin on the Lake of the Ozarks.
He married Ruth V. Shingleton on Jan. 18, 1941. She died June 14, 2008.
Survivors include two sons, David and wife Lisa, Tonganoxie, and Finney and wife Marilyn, Lawrence; three daughters, Mary Boudreaux and husband Jules, and Melanie Chapman and husband Rick, all of Tonganoxie, and Linda Owen and husband Art, Oskaloosa; four brothers, Raymond Robbins, Basehor, Herbert Robbins, Tonganoxie, Donald Robbins, McLouth, and Charles Robbins, Lebanon, Mo.; 16 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Quisenberry Funeral Home in Tonganoxie.
