Melvin LeRoy McClelland 1934 - 2010 Lawrence

Services for Melvin “LeRoy” McClelland, 76, Lawrence, will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. McClelland died Sunday, March 14, 2010, at his home.
He was born Jan. 9, 1934, in Lawrence, the son of Melvin Lemone and Pauline Mary Baker McClelland.
Mr. McClelland served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a truck driver for Mayflower and then Lawrence Paper Company.
He enjoyed gardening, working in his yard, camping and fishing. He also loved to tell stories about his adventures at Fort Churchill in northern Canada and on the road as a truck driver.
He married Ann B. Steinmetz Rogers on Nov. 28, 1977, in Miami, Okla. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include his son, Eric LeRoy and wife Debbie, Lawrence; two daughters, Paula Falscroft and husband David, of Kansas City, Kan., and Patricia Rogers, of Lawrence; two brothers, James F., Ottawa, and Larry, Leavenworth; a sister, Virginia Lou Boyd, Lawrence; and six grandchildren.
Friends may call from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, where the family will receive them from noon to 2 p.m. Friday.
