Patricia A. Hadl 1945 - 2010 Lawrence
Funeral services for Patricia A. “Patty” Hadl, 64, Lawrence, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at First Christian Church, Lawrence. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
She died Saturday, March 13, 2010, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City, Mo.
Ms. Hadl was born Dec. 20, 1945, in Lawrence.
She attended schools in Texas before returning to Lawrence in 1963.
Ms. Hadl was a client at Cottonwood Inc. since its inception. She worked various jobs, most recently at Hy-Vee on Sixth Street. She was an avid Kansas University fan and loved to travel with the Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department. She was a participant in the Special Olympics. Some of her favorite pastimes were bowling, fishing, and collecting paper weights and miniature cars.
Survivors include her parents, Bill and Betty Bunce of rural Linwood, and her father, Bob Hadl, Aurora, Mo.; four sisters, Connie Kamp and husband Roy, Baldwin City, Lynn Heiserman and husband Gary, Lawrence, Shelly Thornton and husband Larry, Lawrence, and Kathie Butler and husband Wayne, Mesquite, Texas; two brothers, Mike Miller and wife Janice, The Colony, Texas, and Dale Bunce and wife Julie, Ottawa; and 41 nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Beth Skinner.
The family suggests memorials to Cottonwood Inc. or to the American Heart Association, sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary, 120 W. 13th St.
The family will greet friends from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday at the mortuary.
