Wade Hinshaw Arthur 1926 - 2010 Olathe
Funeral services for Wade Hinshaw Arthur, 83, Overland Park, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Arthur died Wednesday, June 23, 2010, in Overland Park.
He was born Sept. 7, 1926, the son of Charles S. and Anna Pearson Arthur.
After graduating from Olathe High School, he joined the U.S. Navy and served until the end of World War II. He attended Kansas University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in business. For more than 30 years he was an underwriter for Farmers Insurance Group in the Kansas City area.
He had many friends in the Kansas City area and enjoyed playing tennis most of his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, William.
Survivors include two brothers, Charles S. Jr. and James Thomas; five nephews, Charles S. III, Robert Bowen, Thomas Pearson, Barry and Vance; and two nieces, Cynthia Arthur Sheern and Deborah Arthur Heidorn.
The family suggests memorials to the Heartland Hospice, sent in care of the Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home, 601 Ind., Lawrence, KS 66044.
