William John Bosze 1918 - 2010 Lawrence
William J. Bosze
Memorial services for William John Bosze, 91, Lawrence, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home.
Mr. Bosze died Thursday, June 24, 2010, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
He was born Dec. 27, 1918, in Fairfield, Conn., the son of Frank and Anne Toth Bosze.
Mr. Bosze worked at KPL, now Westar, for 37 years, retiring in 1983. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps from Sept. 4, 1942, to Feb. 8, 1946.
He was a member of the Dorsey-Liberty Post 14 of the American Legion, Alford-Clarke Post 852 of the V.F.W. and the Eagles Lodge, all of Lawrence, and the Moose Lodge of Topeka.
He married Nancy Elizabeth Ray in 1945; she died in 1961. He married Betty Jane Spaulding in 1961; she survives, of the home.
Other survivors include two sons, Jim Rainwater and wife Barbara, Oklahoma, and Jerry Avey and wife Donna, Colorado; four daughters, Pamela Herzog, Lawrence, Joan Gish and husband Bob, California, Connie Spitz and husband Owen, Lawrence, and Jane Landmark and husband Victor, Lawrence; 17 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society, sent in care of Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1260, Lawrence, KS 66044.
