Margo Jean McCarthy Larkin

A memorial service for Margo Jean McCarthy Larkin, 57, Independence, Mo., will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary. Inurnment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Ms. Larkin died Thursday, June 17, 2010, at Truman Medical Center, Kansas City, Mo.
She was born March 30, 1953, in South Bend, Ind., the daughter of Paul J. and L. Jean McCarthy. She moved to Lawrence in 1961.
Ms. Larkin attended Centennial Grade School, Central Junior High, and graduated from Lawrence High School in 1971. She then attended Emporia State Teachers College and Kansas State College of Pittsburg.
She was employed at the Department of Motor Vehicles as a clerk in Raytown, Mo. Previously, she was employed at Kansas Color Press, Packer Plastic and Allied Signal, all in Lawrence.
She married Robert Larkin. They later divorced.
Survivors include her parents, Lawrence; a son, Matthew, Independence, Mo.; a daughter, Amanda Boyce and son-in-law Bryan, Independence, Mo.; a brother, Mark, Lawrence; four grandchildren, Blaine, Tyler, Alison, and Chloe; a niece, Emily; and a nephew, Eric.
The family suggests memorials to the Margo Jean Larkin memorial fund, sent in care of the mortuary, 120 W. 13th St., Lawrence, KS 66044.
