Paulen E. Tryon

Graveside memorial services for Paulen E. Tryon, 85, Lawrence, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Memorial Park Cemetery, with Chaplain Noreen Lozano officiating.
Mr. Tryon died Sunday, June 13, 2010, at his home.
He was born Feb. 26, 1925, in Lawrence, the son of Edwin A. and Ottie Aunger Tryon. He attended Liberty Memorial High School.
Mr. Tryon was a press operator for Lawrence Paper Company for 46 years. He had previously worked at Sunflower Army Ammunition Plant.
Mr. Tryon enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and enjoyed gardening and giving away produce from his garden.
He married Verna F. Pugh on Nov. 20, 1945. They enjoyed nearly 65 years of marriage. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include two sons, Tom and Nick, both of Lawrence; two daughters, Audrey Richeson and husband Bill, Baldwin City, and Twila Tryon, Shawnee Mission; a brother, Charlie and wife Judy, Kansas City, Kan.; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Harry and Jim, and a sister, Florence Souders.
