Brenda Kay Durr 1960 - 2010 Eudora
A memorial service for Brenda Kay Durr, 49, of Eudora, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the St. Paul United Church of Christ in Eudora. Private family inurnment will be at a later date in Eudora Cemetery.
Ms. Durr died Sunday, June 13, 2010, at her home in Eudora.
She was born Dec. 21, 1960, in Lawrence, the daughter of Robert and Virginia Brecheisen Durr.
She was a graduate of Eudora High School in 1979. She received her bachelor’s degree in journalism from Kansas University in 1983.
She worked in Louisiana and Arizona until May 5, 1986, when she returned to Eudora and began work as a paralegal with Shook, Hardy and Bacon in Kansas City, Mo., until her death.
She was a member of the St. Paul United Church of Christ in Eudora and was very active at the Lawrence Humane Society.
She is survived by her parents, of Eudora; and her brother, Brent and wife Mary Durr, Eudora.
The family suggests memorial to the Eudora St. Paul United Church of Christ, Douglas County Visiting Nurses, Rehabilitation and Hospice Care or the Lawrence Humane Society, sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary, Eudora Chapel, 1003 John L. Williams Way, Eudora, KS 66025.
