James F. Reeves 1937 - 2010 Lawrence
Memorial services for James F. Reeves, 73, Lawrence, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home & Crematory.
Mr. Reeves died Monday, June 7, 2010, at Stormont-Vail Regional Health Center in Topeka.
He was born March 19, 1937, in Hiawatha, the son of Frank and Ellen Dagenhart Reeves. He attended schools in Hiawatha, and graduated from Hiawatha High School. He later attended Kansas University, and graduated from the School of Engineering and Architecture in 1965. He served in the National Guard for seven years.
Mr. Reeves was an architect and worked for Williamson-Corman and Associates and Ekdahl, Davis, Depew, Persson/Architects in Topeka. He was a partner with Horst, Terrill and Karst in Topeka, and retired in 1999 as a project manager for Ferrell Construction of Topeka.
He served on the board of directors of Helping Hands Humane Society, and was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon and the American Institute of Architects. He enjoyed traveling, photography and gardening.
He married Norma Jean Spresser on Nov. 23, 1962, in Lawrence. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include a sister, Jo Ellen Leslie, Piketon, Ohio.
The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
The family suggests memorials to Helping Hands Humane Society of Topeka or the Lawrence Humane Society, sent in care of the funeral home, 601 Ind., Lawrence, KS 66044.
