Eileen O’Connor Piller

As previously announced Eileen O’Connor Piller passed away peacefully, Wednesday night, 28th April 2010 at her home.
A Memorial Service for Eileen will be at 10:00 AM Saturday, June 12, in the Saint Lawrence Catholic Campus Center, which is located at the corner of 15th and Engle Road in Lawrence, KS. Go north or south on Iowa to 15th then east 1 block to Engle.
Eileen was born on April 2nd, 1926, in Wichita, Kansas, the daughter of Joe and Helen O’Connor. She grew up in Wichita and graduated from the University of Kansas with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1948. At KU she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority.
She married Bob Piller on December 24th, 1948, in Wichita, Kansas. They lived in Wichita until the late nineties and then moved to Lawrence, Kansas, to be with family and friends.
Eileen was an accomplished artist and illustrator. She shared her oil paintings and pastels with family and friends. She also did stage design and created puppets for the Junior League Children’s Program, and illustrated the book “Tole Flowers and Ornaments,” which was published in 1972.
She is survived by her husband Bob and their sons Lynn and Tom and daughters Helen and Judy. Other survivors are their 8 grandchildren: Tom Seymour, Brooke Patton, Brian Seymour, Kathy and Jim Piller, Michael and David Feldner, and Leo Piller. One great-grandchild, Harrison Seymour, was born after her death.
The family suggests memorials to a cause of the donor’s choice.
