Irvin Lewis Durflinger

A celebration of life and open house for friends of the family of Irvin Lewis Durflinger, 78, Lawrence, will be from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at 4504 Oak Tree Court, Lawrence. Inurnment will be at a later date in Pretty Prairie.
Mr. Durflinger died Tuesday, June 1, 2010, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
He was born March 30, 1932, in Hutchinson, the son of Edward and Mary Drolte Durflinger.
Mr. Durflinger worked in agricultural sales and retired in 1999 from Suther Feed in Frankfort. He had been in the Navy Reserve. He was also a member of American Legion Dorsey-Liberty Post 14 in Lawrence.
He married Clara Miles on Oct. 12, 1974, in Salem, Ore. She survives, of the home.
Other survivors include three children, Ronald Durflinger and wife Christine, Lawrence; Douglas Day, Salem, Ore., and Deborah Miller, Olympia, Wash.; a brother, Donald and wife Donna, Douglas; a sister, Esther Fisher and husband Arlen, Seiling, Okla.; nine grandchildren, Autumn Lee, Joshua and Emily Durflinger, Ami Daley, Ronald Hizer, Douglas Day Jr., Aaron Day and Brandon and Casey Miller; 11 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Margaret; two sons, Raymond and Corwin; and a brother, Glen and wife Violet.
