Richard Lee Morris

A memorial gathering for Richard Lee “Rick” Morris, 70, Lawrence, will be 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
Mr. Morris died Friday, July 23, 2010, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
He was born March 17, 1940, in Poplar Bluff, Mo., the son of James and Wilma Morrison Morris.
He served in the U.S. Marines from 1958 to 1962. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for W.A. Dunbar and retired with the Local 101 Operators and Engineers Union.
He was a former member of the Eagles.
He married Delores Zima on Oct. 3, 1966, in Miami, Okla. She survives, of the home.
Other survivors include his father, James, Oceanside, Calif.; two daughters, Tammra Pearce, Sparks, Nev., and Lareeda Hickey and husband Alan, Lawrence; a brother, Jim, Oceanside, Calif.; a brother-in-law, Marvin Zima, Lawrence; and four grandchildren, Bryan and Erin Hickey and Adam and Ryan Pearce.
The family suggests memorials to the Lawrence Humane Society, sent in care of the mortuary, 120 W. 13th St., Lawrence, KS 66044.
