Rheba J. Wales 1932 - 2010 Lecompton
Graveside services for Rheba J. Wales, 77, Lecompton, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Wales died Friday, July 16, 2010, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
She was born Oct. 15, 1932, in Nash, Okla., the daughter of Thomas and Lois West Hurley.
Mrs. Wales had worked for Hallmark Cards and was a rural route mail carrier for the Post Office. She enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, gardening and mahjong.
She was a member of Clinton Parkway Assembly of God.
She married Charles Wales in 1951. He died July 16, 2001.
She was also preceded in death by four brothers, Keith, Kenneth, David, and Joel “Buz” Hurley; and a sister, June Hurley.
Survivors include two sons, Timothy and Thomas Wales, Lawrence; a daughter, Virginia Keenan, Woodbury, Minn.; two brothers, D. Duane and Rex Hurley, Enid, Okla.; a sister, Nancy Rosa Nichols, Enid, Okla.; and six grandchildren.
Friends may call from noon to 8 p.m. Monday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home, where the family will receive them from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The family suggests memorials to the Ronald McDonald House or Salvation Army, sent in care of the funeral home, 601 Ind.
