Loretta Romano

Private family services for Loretta Romano, 82, will be held Saturday, July 17, 2010. Cremation is planned. Loretta died on July 12, 2010, in her home in Lawrence, KS.
Loretta, wife of the late Peter Romano, was born Loretta Youngclaus in Jersey City, NJ. After WWII, she worked at various manufacturing jobs, where she met her husband Peter.
Loretta was known for her well-developed sense of humor and practical jokes. She particularly enjoyed Peter Sellers in the Pink Panther movies and regularly watched The Stephen Colbert Report on the Comedy Channel. Loretta was also an avid reader of biographies, and she liked The Beatles, especially their early albums. “Maxwell’s Silver Hammer,” (a humorous Beatles’ song) was one of her favorites. Her preferred charity was the Humane Society.
Survivors include a daughter, Patricia Sartor of Hackensack, NJ, and two sons, Vincent Romano of Hollywood, FL and Peter Romano, Jr. of Lawrence, KS; a few of her brothers and sisters in New Jersey; and four grandchildren: Vanessa, Jordan, Mia, and Peter.
