Kathryn P. (Patrick) Beins lost her battle with cancer and died at home in Baldwin City, Kansas, on July 14, 2010. She was born July 3, 1962, and was 48 at the time of her death.
Kathy was, until the time of her passing, the Director of Sales for Teva Animal Health. She had been in the veterinary pharmaceutical industry for 27 years. Her love of animals was natural since she was raised on a dairy farm in Lisbon, Maryland. She was active in 4-H as a youth and continued to exhibit her passion for 4-H as an adult. She was also active in church throughout her life, and found local mission outreach especially rewarding.
Mrs. Beins is survived by her husband, John; a daughter, Olivia; two step-children, Jessica and Justin. Other surviving family members include her parents, David and Ann Patrick; brothers, Mike, Dennis and John Patrick; sisters Teresa Eschenrode, Carole Murray and Rhonda Winkler; four brothers-in-law; three sisters-in-law and 14 nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 5:00 pm, July 16, at the First United Methodist Church in Baldwin City, Kansas. Visitation will also be at the church beginning at 3:30 pm. The burial will be at 10:00 am, July 17, in Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Bentley, Kansas, Dr. Connie Wilson officiating. A memorial service will be held at the Lisbon Methodist Church, Lisbon, Maryland, at 11:00 am, July 24.
