Madeline "Peggy" V. Dickinson 1923 - 2010 Lawrence
Graveside services for Madeline V. “Peggy” Dickinson, 87, were Sunday at Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Lawrence.
Mrs. Dickinson died Sunday, June 27, 2010, at her home.
She was born Feb. 17, 1923, in Clifton Heights, Pa., the daughter of Stanley Garchinsky and Helena Herubin.
Mrs. Dickinson worked as a registered nurse and was a homemaker. She lived in Wilmington, Del., for most of her life and spent her retirement years in Phoenix and Dover, Del. She moved to rural Oskaloosa in June 2009 to be close to her daughters and grandchildren.
She was an active member of her local Catholic church throughout her life.
She married Joseph L. Dickinson on Oct. 2, 1948, in Clifton Heights. He died on June 22, 1995.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Joseph A., in 1997; five brothers; and four sisters.
Survivors include two daughters, Patti Dickinson, rural Oskaloosa, and Chris Dickinson, Independence, Mo.; a sister, Teresa Flickinger, Middletown, Del.; and three grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to Jefferson County Home Health and Hospice or the Little Sisters of the Poor, sent in care of Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1260, Lawrence, KS 66044.
