Dorothy Darlene Walker 1918 - 2010 Lawrence
Funeral services for Dorothy Darlene Walker, 91, Lawrence, will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
She died Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2010, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
She was born Oct. 10, 1918, in Ponca City, Okla., the daughter of David B. and Sylvia A. Robison Ingram.
She was employed by Stokely Van Camp. She operated Walker’s Trailer Court in Lawrence for more than 40 years.
She married John W. Walker on July 31, 1937, in Nowata, Okla. He died Oct. 24, 1992.
She also was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Carl, Jarl and David Ingram; a sister, Bernice Allen; and a grandson, Gerald W. Colley.
Survivors include a daughter, Billie Donna and husband Larry Colley, Lawrence; a brother, Thomas Ingram, Fayetteville, Ark.; a granddaughter, Toni Detherage; three great-grandchildren, Kali, Skyler and Ellie Detherage; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will meet friends from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at the mortuary.
The family suggests memorials to Douglas County Visiting Nurses, Rehabilitation and Hospice Care or a charity of the donor’s choice, sent in care of the mortuary, 120 W. 13th St., Lawrence, KS 66044.
