Betty Perkins 1924 - 2010 Lawrence
A graveside service for Betty Perkins, 85, Lawrence, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Perkins died Friday, Jan. 15, 2010, at Lawrence Presbyterian Manor.
She was born Aug. 10, 1924, in Lawrence, the daughter of Curtis Elton and Louise Allen Wilson. She graduated from Liberty Memorial High School.
Mrs. Perkins was a homemaker and a member of Home Demonstration Unit and Bible study. She was Sunday school superintendent at Wellsville Methodist Church. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting.
She married Bob Perkins on Dec. 16, 1942, in Olathe. He survives, of the home.
Other survivors include two sons, Perry Perkins and wife Joyce, Lawrence, and Jim Perkins and wife Brenda, Kansas City, Mo.; a brother, Lloyd Wilson, Topeka; three grandchildren, Laura Sampson, Kimberly Davis and Michael Perkins; and seven great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Perkins was preceded in death by four brothers, Duane A. Wilson, Curtis O. Wilson, Richard Wilson and John Wilson; and two sisters, Mary Lou Shoffner and Gladys Arlene.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at the Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home, where the family will receive them from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
