Marvin Wayne Hunter 1929 - 2010 Perry
Perry — Church services for Marvin “Wayne” Hunter, 80, Perry, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Perry United Methodist Church. Cremation will follow.
Mr. Hunter died on Saturday, Jan. 9, 2010, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
He was born on Feb. 23, 1929, in rural Perry, the son of Victor Marlin and Anna Lorene Worthington Hunter. He graduated from Perry Rural High School in 1947.
Mr. Hunter worked as a tire builder then as a tire inspector for Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company of Topeka for 31 years, retiring in 1988. He was a member of the Perry United Methodist Church and the Local No. 307 Rubber Workers Union in Topeka.
He married Mildred Darlene Gantz on Sept. 11, 1948, in Eudora. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include four daughters, Darlene Bigham, Perry, Gayla Bogner and husband Jim, Lecompton, Kerry Schafer and husband Pat, Perry, and Gina Brunton and husband Eric, Eudora; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
The family will meet friends one hour prior to services.
