Meda Mae Evinger

Paola — Funeral services for Meda Mae Evinger, 86, Eudora, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, 305 N. Pearl, Paola.
Mrs. Evinger died Monday, Feb. 22, 2010, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
She was born Jan. 31, 1924, in Paola, the daughter of Noah Wesley and Zula Ethel Huston McRoberts.
Mrs. Evinger has lived in Douglas County most of her life. She was a housewife, mother and worked at Eudora Nursing Center as a laundry supervisor before retiring. Mrs. Evinger enjoyed gardening, reading, spending time with her family, playing cards, watching game shows and Lifetime movies, and listening to country music. She also enjoyed socializing.
She married Lawrence O. Evinger on March 23, 1945, in Kansas City, Kan. He preceded her in death.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; a son, Larry; a sister; and two brothers.
Survivors include three sons, Terry Lee Evinger, David Lawrence Evinger, and Rodney Ray Evinger, all of Eudora; a daughter, Karen Evinger, Lawrence; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call one hour before the service at the funeral home.
The family suggests memorials to the Douglas County Visiting Nurses, Rehabilitation and Hospice Care.
