Martha Louise Robb 1913 - 2010 Pittsburg
Funeral services for Martha Louise Robb, 96, Pittsburg, will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens.
She died Saturday, Feb. 20, 2010, at Cornerstone Village, Pittsburg.
She was born April 14, 1913, in Lawrence, the daughter of David S. and Elsie Belle Watson Perkins. She attended Grant Elementary School in Lawrence and graduated from Tonganoxie High School. She attended Kansas State College and graduated from Kansas University in 1966 at age 53.
Mrs. Robb was a member of First Methodist Church in Halstead and a longtime volunteer at Lawrence Memorial Hospital, where all of her children were born. She was a musician, amateur radio operator, doll collector, seamstress and creator of minitiatures.
She married Ronald R. Robb on Nov. 19, 1933, in Lawrence. He died June 14, 2004.
Mrs. Robb was also preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Yvonne L. Eckert; a granddaughter, Jeanette Robb; three sisters, Mildred Smith, Velma Snyder, and Frances Childs; and two brothers, Malcolm and Paul Perkins.
Survivors include three sons, Allan D. and wife Janette, Fairfax, Va., R. Steven and wife Mary Beth, Pittsburg, and Curtis W. and wife Sandi, Newman, Ga.; a sister, Jean Winters, Perry; a brother, Robert Perkins, Lawrence; three granddaughters, Julie Menhart, Tina Crawford and Shawna Sterneker; two grandsons, Timothy Robb and David Eckert; and eight great-grandchildren.
Friends may call after noon Monday at Brenner Mortuary, where the family will meet them from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
The family suggests memorials to Harry Hines Hospice, sent in care of Brenner Mortuary, 114 E. Fourth St., Pittsburg, KS 66762.
