Hazel I. Glasener

Celebration of life services for Hazel I. Glasener, 95, Lawrence, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
She died Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2010, at Wellsville Retirement Community.
She was born March 19, 1914, in Amity, Ark., the daughter of William T. and Savannah L. Porter Lightfoot.
She managed Smith’s Drug Store in Council Grove and later managed Sam’s Drug Store in downtown Lawrence. During her final years of employment, she worked for King Radio Inc., retiring in 1988.
She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Council Grove and had enjoyed bowling in a league for 70 years.
Survivors include two daughters, Betty Robbins and husband Bob, Lawrence, and Marilyn Golden, Eudora; two sons, Jim, Lawrence, and Larry and wife Sandy, Lee’s Summit, Mo.; eight grandchildren, Terri Rockhold, Cindy Hadl, Pam Sheaffer, Debbie Zentz, Kathy Church, Barry Golden, Buddy Livingston and Jeff Little; and 12 great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to Hospice Care of Kansas or Wellsville Retirement Community, sent in care of the mortuary, 120 W. 13th St., Lawrence, KS 66044.
