Eleanor Irene Burden 1923 - 2010 Lawrence
Graveside services for Eleanor Irene Burden, 87, of Lawrence, Kan., will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Gentry City Cemetery in Gentry.
She died Thursday, Dec. 9, 2010, at her home in Lawrence.
She was born April 7, 1923, in Crosby, Minn., the daughter of Paul and Clara Josephine Nelson Graton. She was a 1941 graduate of the Crosby Ironton High School in Crosby.
She worked during World War II at Northrop as a “Rosie the Riveter.” She was also a homemaker.
She married Reasoner Stewart Burden at Yuma, Ariz., on July 7, 1944. He preceded her in death in 1995.
She was also preceded in death by two sons, John Michael Burden in 2002, and William T. Burden; an infant daughter, Marylee Burden, in 1944; and one brother, John Graton.
Survivors include two sons, George Burden, Upland, Calif., and Edward Burden, Garden Grove, Calif.; two daughters, Sally Burger, Lawrence, and Anna May Wolstrom, Corona, Calif.; and one sister, Blanch Wright.
