Joan Lorraine Howard 1934 - 2010 Lawrence

Paid family tribute

Graveside services for Joan Lorraine Howard, 76, Lawrence, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Ms. Howard died Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2010, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
She was born Oct. 8, 1934, in Lawrence, the daughter of Walter and Elvie Raber Howard Jr. She graduated from Liberty Memorial High School.
Ms. Howard worked at Woolworth, Harwood Meats, then at Hallmark for 37 years as a tip master. After her retirement, she worked at Walmart as a greeter until her death. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Survivors include a brother, John D. Howard and wife Sue, Lawrence; four sisters, Delores Howard and Sharon Patterson, Lawrence, Patricia Howard, Waverly, and Glenda Wilkins and husband Harold, Perry.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Walter Leroy; and an infant brother, Gerald Wayne.
Friends may call from noon to 8 p.m. Sunday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home, where the family will receive them from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.
The family suggests memorials to the American Diabetes Association and Lawrence Humane Society.
