Alma Walton Simpson Sisk

Funeral services for Alma Walton Simpson Sisk, 93, Tonganoxie, formerly of Troy, Topeka and Eudora, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Harman Rohde Funeral Home in Troy. Burial will be at Mount Olive Cemetery in Troy.
Mrs. Sisk died Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2010.
She was born June 29, 1917, in Highland, the daughter of Paul and Minnie Dittemore Walton.
Mrs. Sisk taught school for 35 years beginning in one-room school houses in Fanning, Iola, Leona and Sparks, then teaching in and retiring from Pauline school district near Topeka. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, and attended Eudora United Methodist Church and the Ladies Circle of the church.
She married Alden Simpson on Dec. 28, 1937, in Summerfield. He preceded her in death on May 9, 1982.
She married Harold Sisk on April 10, 1986. He preceded her in death Jan. 3, 2008.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; a son, Larry Simpson on Nov. 2, 1958; a sister, Juanita Ausmus; and an infant sister.
Survivors include a son, John Simpson, Troy; three grandchildren, John Michael Simpson, Julia Chumbley and Jeff Simpson; seven great-grandchildren, Reece and Hannah Simpson, John, Zac and Ross Chumbley, and Emily and Elizabeth Simpson; two sisters, Lenora Snapp, Wichita, and Phyllis Walton, Atchison; and a brother, Paul D. Walton, Highland.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, where friends may call after noon Saturday.
