Dalton Adair Howard

Dalton Adair Howard, 67, passed away at his home in rural Topeka on Tuesday, August 10.
He was born in Sabetha and grew up in Horton, Kansas, the son of Chadwick and Wilma Howard.
He graduated from Horton High School, Kansas University, and served in Vietnam in the U.S. Army. After his service, he worked in Lawrence, and then returned to graduate school at the University of Kansas in 1979. After receiving his Master’s Degree he worked as an artist in the Lawrence area until 1992, at which time he joined the staff at the Spencer Museum of Art at KU.
He is survived by his wife, Janet (Rupe) Howard, two sons, Chad (Jennifer) Howard of Wichita and Josh (Mandy) Howard of Olathe, his mother, Wilma Howard Jones, a sister, Brenda (Tom) Brand and three grandchildren, Luke, Sarah and Liam.
A celebration of life will be held at Liberty Hall in Lawrence, Kansas, on August 22 from noon to 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Midland Hospice Care, 200 SW Frazier Cir, Topeka, KS 66606 or to the charity of donor’s choice.
