Mildred B. Linley

Mildred B. Linley, 97, formerly of Liberal and Lawrence, Kansas, died Sunday, August 8, at Kansas City Hospice House. An accomplished teacher, musician, and artist, Mildred held a degree in music education and a master’s degree in violin from the University of Kansas. She was a world traveler and active in a number of civic organizations, including Lawrence PEO chapter GQ. She was a lay reader in her church. She loved reading and was an active bridge player, earning the title of Life Master.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Chesterman C. Linley, and her son in law Richard Norman. She is survived by her three children, Elaine Norman of Overland Park, KS; Michael and Sandra Linley of Dallas TX; and Alfred and Kathy Linley of Dallas TX; five grandchildren, as well as two great-grandchildren. Services will be held on Thursday, August 12 at Saint Michael and All Angels Church, 6630 Nall, Mission, KS at 10:00 AM. A brief visitation at 9:30 AM prior to the service. Burial will be private.
