Esther Hammig

Funeral services for Esther Grace Hammig, 98, Lawrence, will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary. Inurnment will be at 4 p.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Hammig died Friday, July 30, 2010, at Brandon Woods at Alvamar.
She was born on Nov. 9, 1911, in McLouth, the daughter of L.T. and Ethel May Pearson Edmonds.
She was a homemaker and ran the family business office of Hammig Sheet Metal. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and was active in many local organizations. She also volunteered for the Cancer Society while living in Canada.
She married Kenneth K. Hammig on Sept. 6, 1933, in Lawrence. He preceded her in death on Nov. 15, 1999.
She was also preceded in death by four brothers, Orville, Clyde, Kenneth and Harold.
Survivors include two sons, Robert E. and wife Kathy, Denver, and Michael D. and wife Janie, Seneca, S.C.; one sister, Velma Weibel, Pierce City, Mo.; three grandchildren, Meredith, Mark and Laurel; and five great-grandchildren.
The family will greet friends following the service.
