Wanda Louise Pratt Schlup

Funeral services for Wanda Louise Pratt Schlup, 85, Lawrence, will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Valley Falls Cemetery, Valley Falls.
Mrs. Schlup died Friday, July 30, 2010, at Brandon Woods at Alvamar.
She was born Aug. 26, 1924, in Boothill, Mo., the daughter of Mack and Lou Pratt.
She graduated from Valley Falls High School in 1942.
Mrs. Schlup lived in Kansas City, Kan., for 16 years, where she was a cook at Washington High School, a Protestant Sunday school teacher, a Girl Scout leader, and a 4-H leader.
She moved to the Tonganoxie area in 1966, and then to Lawrence in 2000. She worked at Kansas University Bookstore in the accounts payable department as a clerk and supervisor for 19 years, retiring in 1983.
Mrs. Schlup was a member of Kansas Shorthorn Lassies and National Shorthorn Lassies. She enjoyed square dancing and round dancing, and participated for more than 20 years.
She married John H. Schlup on Jan. 1, 1946, in Topeka. He survives, of the home.
Other survivors include a daughter, Bonnie Brown, Silverthorne, Colo.; a son, John R. Schlup and wife Jody, Manhattan; three grandchildren, Jacqueline, Jim and Jason; a sister, Ida Mae Driscoll, Lawrence; a brother, A.J. Pratt and wife Dixie, Topeka; and 13 nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from noon until the service Monday at the funeral home.
The family suggests memorials to Douglas County Visiting Nurses, Rehabilitation and Hospice Care or the American Heart Association, sent in care of the funeral home, 601 Ind., Lawrence, KS 66044.
