Alvin L. Campbell 1922 - 2010 Oskaloosa

Funeral services for Alvin L. Campbell, 88, Oskaloosa, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Oskaloosa United Methodist Church. Burial with American Legion honors will be at Pleasant View Cemetery, Oskaloosa.
Mr. Campbell died Friday, July 30, 2010, at St. Francis Hospital in Topeka.
He was born July 18, 1922, in Fairport, Mo., the son of John and Elta Mae Shipp Campbell. He was a 1940 graduate of Maysville, Mo., High School.
Mr. Campbell worked at the Farmer’s Co-Op in Oskaloosa for over 22 years where he retired as manager in 1985. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
He was a member of Meriden V.F.W. Post No. 10815 and a member of the I.O.O.F Lodge in Oskaloosa.
He married Beulah Nadine Mitchell on Jan. 17, 1947, in Kansas City, Kan. She survives, of the home.
Other survivors include a son, Jack and wife Jennifer, Lawrence; a daughter, Jerry Heston and husband Dale, Oskaloosa; a nephew who was raised as a son, Robert “Bob” Mitchell, Lawrence; five grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Barnett-Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Oskaloosa.
