Velma Jean Loyd

Velma Jean (Wissler) Loyd passed through Heaven’s Gates into paradise with no more pain on Wednesday, April 28, 2010. Jean was born on October 30, 1946, in Topeka, Kansas, and was preceded in death by her father Harvey Wissler and mother Mary Jo Wissler.
She is survived by her loving husband Bari Loyd, brother John Wissler, daughter Jennifer Brown and husband Rick, sons Stephen Loyd and wife Gayle, Loni Loyd and wife Angie, Mike Loyd and wife Trish, and sister-in-law Rholetta Loyd. Jean is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Jean always had a smile and a laugh that was enjoyed and appreciated by all. Her outgoing personality always lit up the room when she entered. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Heaven got a new angel when she departed this life.
Jean was employed by the city of Lawrence, Kansas, for 7 years, the Teacher Retirement System of Texas for 26 years, and the Burnet Central Appraisal District for 7 years.
The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thanks to the entire staff of Seton Highland Lakes Hospital of Burnet and Doctors Glenn Preston and Thomas Fisher of the Cancer Care Centers of South Texas (Marble Falls location). Their loving help and care during the past 6 months is greatly appreciated.
A memorial service to celebrate Jean’s life will be held Saturday, May 8, 2010, at 10:30 a.m. at the First Lutheran Church in Burnet with Reverend Richard Bremer officiating.
