Cleadith P. Bost

Funeral services for Cleadith P. Bost, 90, of Baldwin City, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Lighthouse Baptist Temple in Baldwin City. Burial will be in the Oakwood Cemetery.
Mrs. Bost died Saturday, April 24, 2010, at Baldwin Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born Aug. 30, 1919, in Alicia, Ark., the daughter of Louise Climer and Selton Kirkland. At the age of 6 months she moved with her family to Bakersfield, Mo. When she was 2 her mother died, and she was raised by her maternal grandparents, Sarah Turner and John T. Climer. She attended grade school at Barren Creek and high school at Bakersfield, Mo.
Mrs. Bost and her husband had lived in Rockford, Ill., Kansas City and Sunflower Village before moving to Baldwin City in 1952.
She had worked at two cleaners in Lawrence, at Baldwin Cleaners and at the cleaner at the Olathe Naval Air Station. She also worked at Sunflower Army Ammunition Plant. She and her husband moved to Missouri and ran two different self-serve gas stations from 1971 to 1983. They then retired back in Baldwin City.
She married Earl R. Bost on July 13, 1946, in Springfield, Mo. He preceded her in death Nov. 23, 1993.
She was also preceded in death by her mother, on Sept. 3, 1921, and her father and brother, Clyde Kirkland, in 1991.
Survivors include a son, George Bost, of Baldwin City; two daughters, Lori Hepner, of Lawrence, and Twyla Waltman and husband Paul, Thornton, Colo.; eight grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
The family will meet friends from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home in Baldwin City.
