Susan “Sue” E. Crow

A Memorial Mass and Celebration of Life for Susan E. “Sue” Crow, 70, Lawrence, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Corpus Christi Catholic Church. A cremation and private inurnment is planned.
Mrs. Crow died Thursday, April 22, 2010, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
She was born July 18, 1939, in Bloomington, Ind., the daughter of Harold V. and Sarah Drof Whitelock.
She grew up in Indianapolis and was a graduate of Indiana University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in music education. She earned a master’s degree in special education from the University of Texas at Tyler.
Mrs. Crow’s teaching career spanned 47 years. She taught music in Indianapolis elementary, middle and high schools, and in Lawrence at Pinckney, New York, Riverside, and East Heights schools. She taught special education in Tyler, Texas, at St. Louis School, and upon her return to Lawrence in 1989, at Sunset and Pinckney schools.
She married Proctor Crow Jr. on April 11, 1964, in Indianapolis. He survives.
Other survivors include a daughter, Kendra Elizabeth Clouse and husband Danny, Lawrence; a son, Thomas Gareth Crow and wife Sharon, Jacksonville, Fla.; three grandchildren, Kayla Elizabeth and Nicholas James Sandusky, and Bryce Gareth Crow; two stepgrandchildren, Rebekah Clouse and Alyssa Joubert; and a sister, Mary Frances Gerke and husband Richard, Plano, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant brother, Fred Harold Whitelock.
The family suggests memorials to the Lawrence Memorial Hospital Endowment for Oncology, or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
