Dora F. Stoebener

Dora F. Stoebener, 86, of Baldwin City, Ks., died April 13, 2010, at her residence. Born January 4, 1924, in San Antonio, Texas, she was the daughter of the Rev. Joseph Otto Polster and Frieda Schneider. Dora married Otto F. Stoebener on October 12, 1955, at St. John’s United Church of Christ in Worden.
Before becoming a homemaker, Dora worked as a beautician in Lawrence. She was a longtime member of the St. John’s United Church of Christ and a member of the Sunshine Bible Class.
Dora enjoyed having frequent company from family and friends. She also loved having the grandchildren and their friends visit the farm especially for special events and celebrations like the Fourth of July. She was an avid participant in activities such as bingo and UNO at the Baldwin Senior Center. Dora loved nature and her feline pets.
Dora is survived by her daughter Rose Marie and husband Mark Robertson of Lawrence, Ks; a granddaughter, Katie Robertson and grandson Jack Robertson, both of Lawrence, Ks. She is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews.
Dora was preceded in death by her parents, husband Otto, and a brother, Robert Polster.
Services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday at St. John’s United Church of Christ with burial to follow in the adjacent cemetery. A visitation was held on Thursday evening at Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home in Baldwin City.
