Wayne L. Becker 1923 - 2009 Meriden
Meriden — Funeral services for Wayne L. “Red” Becker, 86, Meriden, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Barnett-Chapel Oaks Meriden Chapel. Burial will be at Meriden Cemetery.
Mr. Becker died Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2009, at his home.
He was born Sept. 18, 1923, in Meriden, the son of Walter John and Gladys Chapman Becker. He was a longtime resident of Meriden.
Mr. Becker was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
He was a lab technician at the Theracon Research Lab for 25 years in Topeka. He retired in 1988. He was a member of the V.F.W. Post No. 10815 in Meriden and American Legion Post No. 225 in Ozawkie.
He married Charlotte Marie Hundley on March 1, 1952, in Wichita. She survives, of the home.
Other survivors include a son, Bill, Meriden; two daughters, Glenda Jo Peden, Topeka, and Donna E. Anderson, Meriden; a brother, Gerald Steele, Atwood; eight grandchildren; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Donald Wayne.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral chapel.
The family suggests memorials to Meriden V.F.W. Post No. 10815 scholarship fund, sent in care of the funeral chapel, P.O. Box 331, Meriden, KS 66512.
