Kenneth Leon Hargett

Services for Kenneth Leon “Kenny” Hargett, 62, Lawrence, will be 1 p.m. Saturday at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Burial will be Monday at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Hargett died Monday, Sept. 21, 2009, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
He was born Dec. 1, 1946, in Richland, Mo., the son of James Franklin and Olive Lorene Miller Hargett.
Mr. Hargett was a retired truck driver. He was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
He married Ruth Lucille Jellison on July 24, 1971. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include a son, Randy Johnson, Lawrence; a daughter, Carolyn Johnson, Lawrence; three brothers, James Jr., Richard and Dallas, all of Baldwin City; four sisters, Betty Porter, Salisbury, Mo., Margie Winchell and Edith Murray, Baldwin City, and Bernice Howell, Franktown, Colo.; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A sister, Kathleen Harris, preceded him in death.
Friends may call from noon to 8:30 p.m. on Friday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Friday.
The family suggests memorials to the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, sent in care of the funeral home, 601 Ind., Lawrence, KS 66044.
