Lucille Mae Hobbs

Funeral services for Lucille Mae Hobbs, 83, Horton, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the First Christian Church in Horton. Burial will be at the Rosehill Cemetery in Robinson.
She died Friday, Sept. 18, 2009, at the Horton Community Hospital.
She was born Dec. 9, 1925, in rural Willis, the daughter of Charles and Clara Twitchell Earp.
Mrs. Hobbs was a homemaker and worked as a seamstress for the Horton Garment Factory for many years. She was a member of the First Christian Church, where she served as a Sunday school teacher and deacon; Christian Women’s Fellowship; and Horton Garden Club.
She married Jessie Hobbs on Nov. 28, 1944, in Hiawatha. He survives, of the home.
Other survivors include two sons, Floyd Hobbs, Colorado Springs, Colo., and Charles Hobbs, Lecompton, formerly of Lawrence; two daughters, Shirley Owens, Topeka, and Debra Lowe, Wichita; a sister, Maxine Thurn, St. Joseph, Mo.; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
The family will greet friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Sunday at the Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary, 909 Central Ave., Horton, KS 66439.
The family suggests memorials to the First Christian Church, sent in care of the mortuary.
