Amos Charles Wrightsman

Funeral services for Amos Charles Wrightsman, 96, Lawrence, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Willow Springs Old German Baptist Brethren Meeting House. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Pleasant Grove.
Mr. Wrightsman died Monday, Sept. 14, 2009, at Baldwin Healthcare and Rehab Center, Baldwin City.
He was born March 14, 1913, in Harris, the son of Charles David and Bertha Flora Wrightsman. He was raised by his aunt and uncle, Ira and Fanny Flory.
Mr. Wrightsman farmed in rural Douglas County from 1940 to 1990.
He married Myrtle Catherine Crist on Nov. 29, 1942, at the home of the bride, near Centropolis. She survives, of the home.
Other survivors include a daughter, Carolyn Burd and husband Robert, Ankeny, Iowa; a son, Calvin, Topeka; a cousin he was raised with, Oscar Flory, Rossville, Ind.; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a stepgreat-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Mary Wrightsman, in June 2009.
The family will meet friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Meeting House.
