Kara Louise Morgan 1983 - 2009 Lawrence
Funeral services for Kara Louise Morgan, 26, of Lawrence, will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will be in the Circleville Cemetery.
Ms. Morgan, formerly of Holton, died Saturday, Sept. 12, 2009, as the result of a car accident.
She was born Aug. 25, 1983, in Tacoma, Wash., the daughter of Robert A. and Connie J. Wade Morgan. She graduated from Jackson Heights High School, in Holton, in 2001. She had previously lived in Soldier, and also lived in Hawaii for two years.
She had lived in Lawrence the past four years and attended Kansas University. She had worked as a waitress at the Alvamar Country Club in Lawrence.
She attended the Soldier Christian Church and was a member of the Elk Creek Turtle Club.
Survivors include her parents, Bob and Connie Morgan, Holton; her paternal grandmother, Glenda Query, Puyallup, Wash.; her maternal grandmother, Thersa Wade, Holton; a sister, Jennifer Whitaker of Tacoma, Wash.; and a nephew, Cooper Whitaker, and a niece, Caitlynn Whitaker.
The family will meet friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
The family suggests memorials to the Kara Morgan Memorial Fund, to be designated at a later date, sent in care of Mercer Funeral Home P.O. Box 270, Holton, KS 66436.
