Harold August Raukman

Hutchinson — Funeral services for Harold August “Rocky” Rauckman, 88, Hutchinson, will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Trinity United Methodist Church, 1602 North Main St., Hutchinson, with the Rev. Pat Ault-Duell presiding. Burial will be in Fairlawn Burial Park.
Mr. Rauckman died Sunday, Sept. 6, 2009, at his home.
He was born July 9, 1921, in Medford, Okla., the son of William G. and Esther Lena Arning Rauckman.
Mr. Rauckman graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1939. He was an automobile mechanic for Welborns Supply while in school. He also worked for Rayl Motors and retired from Davis Child Chevrolet in 1984 after working for them 39 years.
He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, United Methodist Men and DUO Sunday school class. He served 17 years with RSVP on the Senior Volunteer Sheriff Patrol and also volunteered at the Reno County Food Bank.
He married Mary Margaret Hisey on May 18, 1941, in Hutchinson. She preceded him in death on Nov. 6, 1981. He married Barbara Baker, of Pratt, on Dec. 1, 1985, in Hutchinson. She survives.
Survivors also include a daughter, Anita Jo Ensz and husband Robert, McPherson; three sons, Gary and wife Kathy, Lawrence, Robert and wife JoAn, Topeka, and William and wife RoxAn, Sturgis, S.D.; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a stepdaughter, Deborah Farmer and husband Neal, Manhattan; three stepgrandchildren; five stepgreat-grandchildren; and two sisters, Lorraine O’Donnell and husband Pat, Escondido, Calif., and Lois Jones, Topeka.
His parents preceded him in death.
Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. The family will meet friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the mortuary.
