Funeral services for Louezelle Smith, 86, Lawrence, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary. Private burial will follow.
Mrs. Smith died Friday, Sept. 4, 2009, at her home.
She was born March 19, 1923, in Alma, Ark., the daughter of James W. and Lula Miller Wise.
She worked for Reuter Organ Company as an organ cabinet handworker from 1941 until she retired in 1988. Mrs. Smith was a longtime member of First Nazarene Church, and she was later a member of Clinton Parkway Assembly of God Church.
She married Lovelle Smith on Oct. 1, 1941. He preceded her in death.
Mrs. Smith was also preceded in death by five brothers, James Sherman, Victor Eugene, Herschell Lee, William Audrey and Admal Dewey.
Survivors include a daughter, Sandra Gale Duersch, Lawrence; a sister, Grace Meuffels, Lawrence; four grandchildren, Nicki Hicks, Robert Garner, William McCain and Eugena Madden; and eight great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to Douglas County Visiting Nurses Association, Rehabilitation and Hospice Care or the American Cancer Society, sent in care of the mortuary.
