Evelyn Nadine Holton

Tonganoxie — Funeral services for Evelyn Nadine Holton, 94, Tonganoxie, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1100 West St., Tonganoxie. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
Mrs. Holton died Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2009, at her home.
She was born Aug. 16, 1915, in Basehor, the daughter of John Wesley and Mattie Smith Kenton. She worked as a teacher, including one-room schools, and was a farm wife.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Tonganoxie, Sacred Heart Altar Society, Friendly Neighbors Unit, E.H.U., Tonganoxie Historical Society and was a 4-H leader.
She married Thomas Francis Holton on April 3, 1948, in Tonganoxie. He died Oct. 21, 1996.
Survivors include three sons, Kevin T., Kerry M. and Terrence P. Holton, all of Tonganoxie; a daughter, Theola E. Mannell, Hays; 14 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
The family will meet friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at Quisenberry Funeral Home, where a rosary will be said at 7 p.m.
