Bruce William Smith 1949 - 2009 Lawrence
Memorial services for Bruce William Smith, 60, Lawrence, will be at 2 p.m. Sept. 15 at Plymouth Congregational Church, 925 Vt.
Mr. Smith died Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2009, in Lawrence.
He was born June 22, 1949, in Joplin, Mo., the son of Billy and Naomi Smith. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War.
Mr. Smith graduated from Kansas City Kansas Community College and attended Melodyland School of Theology in Anaheim, Calif. He was retired.
He was a member of Plymouth Congregational Church and the Lawrence Coalition for Peace and Justice.
He married Christine Smith on Oct. 5, 1991, in Prairie Village. She survives.
Other survivors include his mother, of Joplin; a son, Mike, Wentzville, Mo.; a stepson, Dashiell Leonard, Lawrence; two daughters, Sarah Smith, Kansas City, Kan., and Becca Cook, Wentzville; two brothers, Danny, Los Angeles, and Gary, Joplin; a sister, Sheila Crawford, West Palm Beach, Fla.; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
