C. Gene DeJaynes 1953 - 2009 Perry

Perry — A celebration of life service for C. Gene DeJaynes, 56, Perry, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Perry American Legion. Cremation will follow.
Mr. DeJaynes died Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2009, at his home in rural Perry.
He was born March 19, 1953, at Pittsfield, Ill., the son of Archie Edward and Edna Margaret Helm DeJaynes. He had lived in Perry since 1978.
Mr. DeJaynes was a construction contractor and building repairman. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, serving from 1974 to 1978. He was stationed in many countries during his service. He was a member of the Perry American Legion Post No. 142.
He married Ronna E. Moore on Sept. 20, 1976, in Oskaloosa. She survives, of the home.
Other survivors include a son, Richard and wife Dana, Lake Charles, La.; two daughters, Jaime DeJaynes and husband Dale, Topeka, and Sara Cloud and husband Pat, Topeka; three brothers, Gary, John, and Dale; two sisters, Charlene DeJaynes and Darlene DeJaynes; two grandsons, Jeff and Patrick; two granddaughters, Zoe Gordon and Mia Cloud; and many nephews and nieces.
The family will receive friends from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at Barnett-Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Oskaloosa.
