Sylvia Jean Frank

A memorial service for Sylvia Jean Frank, 79, Lawrence, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Trinity Episcopal Church. Entombment will be at the Trinity Episcopal Church Columbarium.
Mrs. Frank died Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2009, at Lawrence Presbyterian Manor.
She was born April 6, 1930, in Evanston, Ill., the daughter of William F. and Gertrude Ada Noyes Tempest.
Mrs. Frank and her husband owned Frank Photography in Lawrence. She was a longtime piano teacher. She and her husband retired as organists and choir directors at Trinity Lutheran Church after 40 years.
She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, the Lawrence Music Club and the Lawrence Accredited Music Teachers organization. She was a violinist for the Topeka Symphony Orchestra.
She married Homer A. Frank on June 9, 1951, in Evanston. He died Jan. 13, 2008.
Survivors include two daughters, Carolyn L. Abman and husband Steve, Denver, and Donna J. Curry, Fairbanks, Alaska; two sons, Bryan W. Frank and wife Rosemary, Portage, Ind., and Barry A. Frank and wife Tammy, Lawrence; a brother, Harrison F. Tempest, Lake Forest, Ill.; and 12 grandchildren, Ryan, Lauren, Mark and Megan Abman, Sean, Scott and Kyle Curry, Kylie Burrowes and Michael, Christen, Nolan and Garrett Frank.
The family will meet friends from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Sunday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
The family suggests memorials to the Lawrence Humane Society or Trinity Episcopal Church’s Music Fund, sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
