Carolyn J. Shook

Wichita — A memorial service for Carolyn J. Shook, 70, will be at 1:30 p.m. today at the Prairie Homestead Chapel in Wichita. Burial will be private.
Mrs. Shook died Monday, Oct. 12, 2009.
She was born Oct. 29, 1938, in Pratt, the daughter of Carl and Gertrude Senter. Her father served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, and the family lived in various places where he was stationed. After the war the Senter family moved to Ottawa, where Carolyn graduated from high school and attended Ottawa University.
Following college, she and her husband lived in Olathe, Minneapolis, Milwaukee and Wichita, and Mrs. Shook was involved in the various ministries where her husband served. She was a homemaker, and had also worked outside the home in Minneapolis and Wichita. She was a retired office manager of the Arthritis Center.
She married Bill Shook on Jan. 30, 1960. He survives.
Other survivors include two daughters, Debra Ruhulessin and husband Ron, and Diane Hull and husband Mark; a son, Steven and wife Vickie; a sister, Martha Gage and husband Ralph; a brother, Charles and wife Betsy; a sister-in-law, Kay Shook; and nine grandchildren.
The family has established a memorial with Prairie Homestead, 1605 May St., Wichita, KS 67213.
