Funeral services for Brenda K. Dunbar Swartz, 50, Olathe, will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery in Lawrence.
She died Saturday, Oct. 10, 2009, at the Olathe Medical Center.
She was born April 30, 1959, in Lawrence, the daughter of Charles H. and Doreta Patterson Dunbar Boyd.
Ms. Swartz was a graduate of Lawrence High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration in 2005 from Ottawa University. She received an M.B.A. from Ottawa University in 2007.
She was formerly employed as a senior project manager for the Sprint Corporation in Overland Park.
Ms. Swartz attended the Life Church in Olathe.
She married Dan M. Swartz on June 21, 1991, in Burien, Wash. He survives, of the home.
Other survivors include a daughter, Charise Swartz, of the home; a stepdaughter, Danielle Eads, of Davenport, Iowa; a son, James S., of the home; her mother and stepfather, Monty Boyd, Lawrence; her father and stepmother, Skip Dunbar, of Sun City West, Ariz.; a sister, Beth Crist, Lawrence; a stepsister, Chris Johnson, of Scottsdale, Ariz.; and two stepbrothers, Martin Boyd, Lawrence, and Mike Boyd, Colorado Springs, Colo.
The family will greet friends from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary.
The family suggests memorials to a fund being established for the Educational Fund for the Children of Brenda and Dan Swartz, sent in care of the mortuary.
